I started waking up WAY before my kids. Currently, I wake up at 5:30am and that gives me enough time to get ready and have some alone time to be alone and prepare before my mommy responsibilities really begin.
5:30am- Wake up and get ready
5:50am- Read Scriptures
6:10 am- Work on a project
6:30 am- Children wake up and we start our morning routine.
Of course, there are countless ways you could use your early-morning time. You could exercise, read your favorite book, have time to talk with your spouse, do your hair nicely, or catch up on housework. ANYTHING that you do without the kids first thing in the morning will rejuvenate you and help you feel more ready to handle the day.
I know it sounds hard and you might have even screamed when you first read the horrible words "wake up earlier", but I promise that you and your body will adjust and you will be truly amazed at how much more peace you can have as you begin your day. Have self-control and go to bed a little earlier. Resist the urge to hit the snooze button. Hop up and get to it!
