We have a jelly jar we call “The Cooperation Jar”. When we catch one or both of our girls being cooperative we praise them and then give them a pom pom to put into the jar.
Sometimes I dangle the pompoms as incentive: “If you ________, you will earn a pompom today.” Or I might announce that today is a double pompom day. Sometimes my daughter might ask “Can I have a pompom for that?” If the action is pompom worthy, I’ll add one. It may be a good opportunity to discuss her good behavior.
It takes the girls about 3 to 4 weeks to fill the jar, which is about one special treat a month.
Our Cooperation Jar is an easy and effective way to motivate and reward good behavior!
